A global climate rise by 2C could be beneficial for society. It would improve the fertilization of crops and growth of forests. However, scientists warn that a further increase in temperature would cause ‘irreversible effects’. Melting of the Arctic ice caps and consequently sea level rise is not the only problem. Europe is in danger of desertion, as its inhabitants will migrate due to its dry climate. This will cause universal suffering, as many citizens will become refugees losing their entire lifestyles. This is also an economic problem, since resources will become very scarce with the reduction of agricultural land available for the world population.
